In this view of California's Mojave Desert in the vicinity of Barstow, the V-shaped blue area is the Manix Basin, which includes the bed of Mojave River. The orange circular and rectangular patches in the basin are irrigated agricultural fields. Sparsely vegetated areas of sand and gravel appears blue; rocky hills and gravel deposits are orange and brown. The dark patch at upper left is Coyote Dry Lake.
